South Korea will launch the Arirang-3 multipurpose observation satellite next week in Japan.

The government said it has completed all preparations for the launch of the satellite, which will lift off at 1:39 a.m. on May 18th at Japan’s rocket-launch complex, the Tanegashima Space Center.

Equipped with a highly sophisticated camera system, the Arirang-3 will operate at an altitude of 685 kilometers for four years on surface observation missions.
