Heavy rain is pounding the nation’s central regions and southern coasts.

The nation’s central inlands saw roughly 50 millimeters of rainfall on Monday and up to 50 millimeters more is expected to follow on Tuesday in Gangwon and North Chungcheong provinces.

However, the precipitation in Gangwon Province is likely to turn into snow as the temperature is projected to drop.

Up to 20 centimeters of snow is expected to pile up in Gangwon’s mountainous regions, while the eastern part of the Daegwallyeong mountain pass is expected to see three to ten centimeters of snow.

Chilly temperatures are forecast for the nation on Tuesday with afternoon highs falling by around ten degrees Celsius from Monday.
