The morning lows on Monday are even lower than those recorded on Sunday, dipping as low as minus ten degrees Celsius in Gangwon Province and around minus five in the capital Seoul and the central region.

The south, including cities of Gwangju and Busan, also reports subzero temperatures.

Temperatures are below zero nationwide, with the exception of Jeju Island.

Due to wind chill, it felt as low as minus ten degrees in Seoul Monday morning. The cold, windy weather is forecasted to continue into the afternoon.

The Korea Meteorological Administration says the cold spell will start to let up from Tuesday afternoon.
