Cherry blossoms will likely begin blooming on March 24th on Jeju Island, four days earlier than last year.

The spring flowers will begin blooming in the southern coastal areas later this month and in central regions in the first ten days of April.

Cherry blossoms will be in full bloom between April 6th and 14th in southern areas and between April 11th and 20th in central regions.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said on Wednesday that the nation’s average temperature marked a record low of minus zero-point-eight degrees Celsius last month.

The administration added that the blooming of cherry blossoms is expected to come one day later this year than previous years as relatively cold weather continues into March.
