The Japan Football Association (JFA) said Friday South Korean soccer player Park Ji-sung of Kyoto Purple Sanga has been selected as one of the 35 best players in Japan's professional football league. Local reports said, Park, the only Kyoto Purple Sanga player among the 35, still has the chance to be chosen as part of the "Best Eleven" and "Most Valuable Player (MVP)" soon to be announced by the JFA. Supporters of Kyoto Purple Sanga had already chosen Park as the team's MVP. Park, who emerged as a national hero last summer when he scored a goal in a match against the Portuguese team during the World Cup, played a major role in allowing the Kyoto team to finish fifth in the Japanese professional soccer league.
