Temperatures dropped again over the weekend but are expected to warm up from Tuesday.

The sudden cold spell prompted the issue of cold wave advisories in mountainous Gangwon Province regions.

Temperatures plunged to below zero nationwide Monday morning except for Jeju Island and some central inlands reported close to minus ten degrees Celsius.

The mercury will dip to minus ten in the central inlands and minus 15 in the Daegwallyeong mountain pass on Tuesday morning.

The Korea Meteorological Administration says 20 centimeters of snow have fallen on the east coast and urged residents there for precaution in facility management and traffic safety.

However, the weather agency says the cold snap will start to let up from Tuesday afternoon.
