South Korea has earned a ticket to the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup as FIFA announced a new host for the event.

FIFA on Friday said that it has decided to change the venue for the event to Japan from Uzbekistan due to insufficient preparations in the Central Asian nation.

South Korea finished fourth in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-19 Women’s Championship last year, which led to the team’s disqualification from the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

However, as FIFA changed the host to Japan, South Korea is now qualified to play in the tournament along with North Korea and China.
