Committe for Third Naro Launch to Begin Operation Wed.

A monitoring and preparation committee for the third attempt to launch the nation’s first space rocket, Naro, will go into operation on Wednesday.

The committee is comprised of eleven members in three fields including launch vehicle, space center and satellite. Civilian space experts will participate in the committee’s objective inspection of the launch preparation process.

The committee will inspect and monitor the process to make sure the issues that led to two previous failed launches aren’t present. It will then notify related agencies of any problems or inefficiencies.

South Korea plans to make the third launch attempt of Naro in October following failures in 2009 and 2010.
