Russian Mars Probe to Fall into Indian Ocean on Sunday

Russia’s Federal Space Agency says its Mars probe Phobos-Grunt is likely to crash into the Indian Ocean near Madagascar on Sunday.

Russian space officials say the Phobos-Grunt is expected to crash around 12:12 p.m. local time between the island nation and mainland Africa.

The probe was launched from Kazakhstan on November 9th of last year but failed to complete its mission because its boosters did not fire while it was orbiting Earth.
