Freezing Temperatures Continue to Grip Nation Thursday

Freezing temperatures are expected to continuously grip the nation on Thursday.

A special cold wave advisory has been issued for the central region’s inland areas and the northern parts of Gyeonggi Province.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said morning lows on Thursday slipped one or two degrees further from Wednesday. The weather agency said that morning lows for the central region and inland areas of the southern regions plunged to minus ten degrees Celsius.

The agency forecast that afternoon highs will remain below zero for most parts of the central region with Seoul’s afternoon high projected to stand at one below Celsius. The agency added the cold weather is expected to ease from Friday.

Meanwhile, the mountainous regions of Jeju Island, Ulleung Island and Dokdo are expected to see two to seven centimeters of snow, while the southern coasts of South Jeolla Province will see less than one centimeter of snowfall on Thursday.
