South Korea Temperatures Below Zero

Temperatures have dropped to below zero degrees Celsius overnight in South Korea.

Northern Jeolla and Gyeongsang provinces as well as the central region of the Korean Peninsula besides Seoul have experienced a cold snap.

Thermometers were seen dropping to minus 16.5 degrees in Cheolwon, minus 14.8 degrees in Munsan, minus 9.5 degrees in Seoul, minus 5.9 degrees in Gwangju and minus 4.1 degrees in Busan.

Gusty winds have also been blowing over the country, with the wind chill factor pushed down to around minus 15 degrees Celsius in Seoul and the metropolitan area.

Day temperatures are expected to linger around minus 3 degrees in Seoul while the country overall will see temperatures from minus 5 degrees to 4 degrees Celsius.

Southern Jeolla and Gyeongsang provinces will see some snow at night with the rest of the country experiencing mild weather.
