Jeonbuk Coach Named National Soccer Team Head Coach

Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors head coach Choi Kang-hee has been named the new head coach of South Korea's national soccer team.

The Korea Football Association held a technical committee meeting Wednesday and selected the two-time K-League champion coach to take the helm of the national team. The appointment has been approved by KFA Chairman Cho Chung-yun.

His contract length has not been specified, but if he delivers results, he could coach the national team all the way through the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Choi led the Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors to the K-League championships in 2009 and this year. Before joining Jeonbuk, he served as a national team coach from 2002 to 2004, including during the Asian games.
