The inaugural "Korea creativity experience festival" opened Friday at the KINTEX center in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

The festival seeks to explore a direction in the education at schools that can help foster students' creative imagination and communication skills with others.

Education Minister Lee Joo-ho and municipal and provincial education superintendents attended the opening ceremony of the event, which draws elementary, middle and high school students from all over the country.

Over 340 student clubs were selected since August to take part in the festival. Member students will showcase exhibits and hold performances and competitions throughout the event.
