Kia Pitcher Yoon Seok-min Named MVP

Kia Tigers pitcher Yoon Seok-min has been named this year’s most valuable player in the Korean Baseball Organization.

Yoon on Monday garnered 62 of 91 votes to win the title, beating Samsung Lions sluggers Oh Seung-hwan and Choi Hyung-woo.

Yoon ranked top in four categories on the season including wins, earned run average, strikeouts and winning rate. It is the first time for a pitcher to mark this achievement since Seon Dong-yeol did 20 years ago.

Meanwhile, Samsung Lions outfielder Bae Young-sub received the Rookie of the Year award, collecting 65 of 91 votes to beat out LG Twins pitcher Lim Chan-kyu.
