Second Search Operation to Begin for Missing Climbers

Rescue workers will launch a second search operation for South Korean mountaineer Park Young-seok and his two fellow climbers who went missing while scaling the south face of Annapurna in the Himalayas.

The Korean Alpine Federation said Thursday that 19 rescue workers will comb through areas near the south face of the mountain.

Three rescue teams each consisting of one South Korean rescue worker and four Sherpa guides will take turns to search for the missing climbers.

South Korean climbers Park, Kang Ki-seok and Shin Dong-min have been missing for nine days. The last contact with them was made on October 18th.
