Tuesday Marks Coldest Day of Fall

Temperatures slid sharply overnight recording the coldest day yet of the fall season.

Tuesday marked the first time for temperatures in inland areas to slip below zero degrees Celsius.

Morning lows fell below five degrees Celsius in most parts of the central region, including Seoul, while southern regions saw the mercury drop to ten below for the first time this fall. Such temperatures are around five degrees lower compared to the same period in previous years.

Usually, the lows experienced on Tuesday aren’t posted until the end of October.

The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast that morning lows will stand at below ten degrees Celsius for most regions on Wednesday but afternoon highs will rise to reach similar levels posted in previous years.
