With the capacity to reach a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour, Formula One race cars are regarded as highly advanced machines and not simply cars.

Although they are only powered by two-point-four liter engines, the racing cars boast power of 750 hp and 18-thousand RPMs.

They are capable of going from zero to 200 kilometers per hour within two-point-four seconds and back to zero within two-point-nine seconds.

The bodies of the cars are made of light materials such as aluminum or titanium. Racing slicks or slick tyres of Formula One cars have no grooves to help them maximize their contact with the track.

Each Formula One car costs 10 billion won. The 2011 Formula One Korean Grand Prix will be held at the Korea International Circuit in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province, on Friday for a three-day run. The final race will be held on Sunday.
