Autumn Foliage Starts at Mt. Seorak

Autumn foliage has returned to Mount Seorak, Gangwon Province.

The Korea Meteorological Administration says that leaves on the mountain began to turn red on Tuesday, with about 20 percent of the mountain covered with the turning leaves.

The autumn foliage on Mount Seorak appeared one day earlier than last year, but six days later than the average date of the past 20 years.

The weather agency forecasts that Mount Seorak’s autumn foliage will peak around October 18th.
