The 13th World Championships in Athletics in Daegu has generated 269-point-four billion won in economic effects.

The Korea Sports Promotion Foundation recently commissioned a sports industry and marketing center of Hanyang University to analyze the event’s economic effects.

The results of the analysis show the Daegu championships created 152 billion won in production and about 117 billion won in added value.

Visitors for the event spent an average 317-thousand won on accommodations, admission fees and transportation.

The event's promotional effects for the city are estimated at 36-and-a-half billion won through broadcasting and the Internet.
