The Samsung Lions have finished the regular season in first place in the Korean Professional Baseball League.

The top seeded finish is the Lion's first since 2006 and has earned them a berth in the Korea Series.

Just one win away from securing the season title, Samsung recently squared off with the Doosan Bears. However things got off to a rocky start when Son Si-heon of Doosan hit a home run in the second inning.

In the third inning, trailing Doosan by two, Samsung’s lead batter Choe Hyeong-u batted two runs in to tie the game.

Samsung's Gang Bong-gyu eventually batted three more runners home, breaking the tie and putting his team well ahead of the Bears.

Doosan continued to fight, but the final score was Lions five, Bears three.
