First Domestic Climate Change Report Published

South Korea has published its first report on climate change of the country.

The Korean Climate Change Assessment Report 2010 analyzes the current climate conditions and provides an outlook for the future.

The report, which is published by the National Institute of Environmental Research, is made up of two parts titled Observation and Prediction of Climate Change, and Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability. The institute prepared the report by analyzing over 17-hundred research papers with over one-hundred scholars.

It states that for every one-meter rise in sea level, one-point-two percent of the land mass on the Korean Peninsula will be submerged. The report also predicted that for every one degree Celsius rise in temperature, the number of people suffering from enteritis will increase by six-point-eight percent.
