Solar Flare Warning Issued

A solar flare warning has been issued for the nation following two days of powerful sun storms.

The Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute said that the X-class solar flare erupted at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday no less than 24 hours after the previous solar storm occurred.

The institute said that the powerful sun storm will unleash massive plasma particles, which will reach the earth between 1 a.m. on Sunday and 7 a.m. on Monday.

Accordingly, the Korea Communications Commission's Radio Research Agency issued a Level Three warning, saying the flare could disrupt shortwave radio communications and satellites.

The agency also urged caution for military organizations, airlines and telecommunications companies, saying additional solar flares are expected until Monday.
