South Korea has tied Kuwait 1-1 in the third round of World Cup qualification play.

During the match held at Peace and Friendship Stadium in Kuwait City on Tuesday, South Korean team captain Park Chu-young put his team up early with a goal in the eighth minute.

However, Kuwait’s Hussain Fadel equalized eight minutes into the second half.

South Korea, Kuwait, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates make up Group B in the third round of Asian qualifiers vying for a spot the 2014 World Cup in Rio de Janiero. South Korea currently leads the group with four points.

South Korea’s next third-round match will be against the United Arab Emirates. The match will be held in South Korean on October eleventh.
