Bolt Sprints into 200m Semi-Finals at World Championships

Jamaican star sprinter Usain Bolt has advanced into the semi-finals in the men’s two-hundred-meter dash at the 2011 IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Daegu.

Walter Dix from the U.S., Christophe Lemaitre from France, and Nickel Ashmeade from Jamaica will also compete in the semi-finals.

Bolt will run for a spot in the finals at 7:55 Friday evening.

The women’s two-hundred-meter finals will be held 8:55 the same evening. Carmelita Jeter and Allyson Felix of the U.S. and Veronica Campbell-Brown of Jamaica are among the top contenders.

The finals for the men’s 16-hundred-meter relay, women’s five-thousand-meter race, men’s shot put, and women’s javelin throw will be held Friday evening as well.
