Jamaica's Bolt Aims to Regain Honor in 200m Race

Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt will seek to regain his honor in the men’s 200 meter race on the seventh day of the World Championships in Athletics in Daegu.

Bolt will compete in the first round of the men’s 200 meter event on Friday. Last Sunday, the world’s fastest man had to sit out the 100 meter final after a false start led to his disqualification. He is the world record holder for both the men’s 100 and 200 meter race.

In the women’s 200 meter finals, Carmelita Jeter and Allyson Felix of the U.S. and Veronica Campbell-Brown of Jamaica will compete for the gold medal.

South Korea’s Kim Deok-hyeon will compete in the qualification round of the men’s triple jump event and later compete in the finals of the men’s long jump.

The finals of the men’s 16-hundred meter relay, women’s five-thousand meter event, men’s shot put and women’s javelin throw will also be held on Friday.
