Cuba's Robles Disqualified, Stripped of Gold in Daegu Championships

Cuba’s Dayron Robles has been disqualified after finishing first at the 110-meter hurdles event at the World Championships in Athletics under way in Daegu.

After examining videos of the race, the International Association of Athletics Federations stripped Robles of his gold for interfering with China’s Liu Xiang in the ninth and tenth hurdles by making body contact during Monday's race.

The gold medal went to Jason Richardson of the U.S. who had come in second and the silver medal went to Liu. Andy Turner from Britain was awarded the bronze medal.
