World Championships in Athletics Enters 3rd Day in Daegu

The 13th IAAF World Championships in Athletics has entered its third day in Daegu.

On Monday, Dayron Robles of Cuba, Liu Xiang of China and American David Oliver will compete in the men’s 110 hurdles finals. During preliminaries held on Sunday, Liu posted the highest score of 13-point-30 seconds.

The Chinese hurdler said the result of the preliminaries is not what is important. He said he believes the athlete that reaches the finishing line in less than 13 seconds will become the winner.

Also on Monday, American Carmelita Jeter and Jamaicans Veronica Campbell-Brown and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will compete in the women’s 100-meter finals.

Meanwhile, American sprinter Allyson Felix will seek to dominate both the women’s 200 and 400 meter events.
