A team comprised of South Korean and American scientists has developed a technology to produce tailormade phosphoprotein. They claimed that the findings will serve as a breakthrough in cancer treatment and other disease research.

Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) Professor Park Hui-seong, in collaboration with a team from Yale University in the U.S., announced that they succeeded in controlling the phosphorylation state of cancer-causing protein MEK-1.

This latest finding is predicted to innovatively assist research in relevant diseases and development of treatments.

This study was conducted as part of the Global Frontier Project under the support of the Education, Science and Technology Ministry. The report was published in the Friday issue of the world-renowned journal Science.
