2011 IAAF World Championships to Open Saturday Night

Anticipation is growing high as the 2011 IAAF World Championships in Athletics are set to open Saturday night.

One-thousand-945 athletes from 202 countries will take part in the major sports event, including Jamaican Usain Bolt who is the world record holder in the 100 and 200 meters. Russian pole valuter, Yelena Isinbayeva, and China’s 110 metre hurdler, Liu Xiang, will also compete in the championships.

During the event, South Korea is hoping to collect medals in both men’s race walking and men’s and women’s marathons.
