A giant black hole devouring a star the size of the sun has been recorded by NASA’s Swift orbital telescope.

An international group of researchers comprising seven South Koreans and NASA scientists have been recording the emission of X-rays from the black hole as it slowly consumes the star.

The recent finding was published in the science journal, Nature, on Thursday.
