Anticipation for the World Championships in Athletics is growing in Daegu with only three days remaining before the South Korean city hosts the games.

Foreign athletes are arriving in droves and cultural and celebratory events are being held all across downtown Daegu.

A performing arts festival opened on Wednesday at the National Debt Repayment Movement Park and areas around Dongseong boulevard. Classical music concerts and other nonverbal performances will also be held near the boulevard from Sunday.

Most of the events will continue through September third.
