Hong Myung-bo, the star captain who led South Korea to the semifinals of the 2002 FIFA World Cup soccer finals, will join the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer next year. LA Galaxy Vice President/General Manager Doug Hamilton announced Monday that the 2002 MLS Cup champions had acquired the rightrights to the Korean defender. No financial terms of the contract were announced, but soccer observers expected it to be for around US$250,000. Hamilton said we are pleased to welcome Hong Myung-bo to Los Angeles and to the Galaxy family.
