Sweltering Heat for This Summer Ends

Sweltering heat for this summer appears to have come to an end as of Thursday.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said Friday that this summer saw about five-point-nine days of scorching heat, or two-point-three days fewer than previous years.

The weather agency said the drop in such sizzling summer days was a result of the tenacious summer rainy season.

The amount of rainfall since June stood at one-thousand-seven millimeters or around double the amount posted in previous years.

The weather agency forecast that the nation will continue to see frequent rain showers and torrential rains until early next month.
