Star US Sprinter Arrives for Athletics World Championship

American track and field star Allyson Felix arrived in Daegu for the IAAF World Championships in Athletics on Thursday morning. She aims to win the women's 200-meter dash for the fourth time at the world championship.

Comfortably dressed in purple and black, Felix said she is excited to be in Korea and that she could be in the peak condition of the season at this meet, saying her physical condition is very good.

Felix is a gold medal contender for the U.S., which is seeing its traditionally strong one-hundred-meter and two-hundred meter sprints for men losing ground to Jamaica.

The star sprinter has won the women’s two-hundred-meter sprints for three consecutive world championships, which are held every two years, in 2005, 2007, and in 2009. Her goal is to win for the fourth consecutive time in the event in Daegu.
