Southeastern Region to Continuously See Hot Weather Tuesday

The nation’s southeastern region, where a heat wave watch has been issued, will continue to see hot weather on Tuesday.

The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast that most areas in South and North Gyeongsang Province will see afternoon highs hover around 33 degrees Celsius. Daegu and Ulsan are expected to see their afternoon highs hit 34 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the central region is projected to see rain on Tuesday.

The weather agency forecast that Seoul and its surrounding regions will see 30 millimeters of rain per hour from late Tuesday, adding that strong winds will accompany the heavy rain.

Twenty to 70 millimeters of rain is expected to pound the central region. In particular, the northern parts of Gyeonggi Province and the Daegwallyeong mountain pass in Gangwon Province are expected to see more than 100 millimeters of rain.

The heavy rain is expected to move towards the southern regions on Wednesday and help cool down the area’s high temperatures.
