Media Gear up to Cover IAAF World Championships in Daegu

Media from all over the world are gearing up to cover the 2011 IAAF World Championships in Daegu with 13 days left before the sports event opens.

The International Association of Athletics Federations' organizing committee for the championships said that it began issuing autograph document (AD) cards for media officials that will visit Daegu last Wednesday. The committee added that from last Friday, it began to greet media officials at an accommodation facility for media staff in Daegu.

Japan’s TBS was the first to enter the facility. TBS plans to send a total of 180 media officials to Daegu, the second largest staff on hand after KBS. The first group of 23 TBS employees arrived at the media facility last Friday.

Around 952 reporters and photographers are expected to cover the sports event, including 155 from South Korea and 797 from abroad. In addition, around two-thousand more media-related workers will visit Daegu for the championships.
