Central Region Pounded by Heavy Rains

Heavy rain warning have been issued for various parts of the central region as Seoul and its surrounding areas are seeing heavy downpours accompanied by lightening.

The inland areas of Gyeonggi Province have seen more than 400 millimeters of rain since Tuesday.

The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast that heavy precipitation will continue to pound the nation throughout the day. Rainfall is expected to lose strength in the afternoon before gaining force again in the evening.

Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, Gangwon Province and the northern parts of North Chungcheong Province will see 50 to 150 millimeters of more rain through Friday. In particular, Seoul and regions northwest of the Daegwallyeong mountain pass will experience more than 250 millimeters of rainfall.
