Swimmer Park Advances to 200m Freestyle Finals in Shanghai

South Korean swimmer Park Tae-hwan has advanced to the finals of the 200-meter freestyle event at the FINA World Aquatics Championships in Shanghai.

Park finished fourth in the semifinals with a time of one minute and 46-point-23 seconds at the Oriental Sports Center on Monday.

France’s Yannick Agnel took first in the semis while U.S. swimmer Michael Phelps, who won eight gold medals during the 2008 Beijing Olympics, finished in fifth.

Park grabbed the gold in the men’s 400-meter freestyle event on Sunday. He seeks to add another gold medal during the 200-meter freestyle finals on Tuesday.
