Temps to Cool Off by Late July, Heat Wave to Return in August

South Koreans will feel relief from the heat wave by the end of July, but temperatures are expected to rise again sometime in August.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said on Friday that temperatures in the first ten days of next month will rise to the levels seen in previous years, bringing about heat waves and tropical nights.

The administration expects that the temperatures in mid- and late August this year will be higher than those recorded in previous years.

The weather agency forecasts the high atmospheric pressure from the North Pacific will affect the nation for a longer period this year than in previous years. The weather experts are expecting the sweltering weather to continue through the end of August with more hot and humid nights in store this summer.
