Monsoon Season Posts Second Largest Rainfall in Nation's History

This year’s monsoon season brought the second largest amount of rainfall in the nation’s history even though it was shorter in length.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said that the annual rainy season came to a close in southern regions on July tenth after lasting for 31 days, one day shorter than previous years.

In central areas, the rainy season lasted for 26 days, six days shorter than usual, and was over on July 17th.

The weather agency says an average 589-point-five millimeters of rainfall was recorded at 47 observatories nationwide, the largest amount posted since 1973.
