Heat Wave Advisories Lifted

Heat wave advisories imposed on most parts of the nation have been lifted as the high temperatures are easing.

Clearing the advisories on Thursday, the Korea Meteorological Administration said that the warm winds are weakening as Typhoon Ma-on is slowly dissipating and the nation is expected to see cloudy skies on Friday.

Daily highs in some regions are expected to top 30 degrees Celsius on Friday as well, but the temperatures around the nation are forecast to fall two to three degrees, not exceeding the 33 degree mark. A temperature above 33 degrees Celsius is when a heat wave advisory is issued.

The mercury is expected to rise to 31 degrees Celsius in Gwangju, 29 degrees in Daegu and Daejeon, and 28 degrees in Seoul.
