The nation’s weather service says the heatwave will continue nationwide on Tuesday.

The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast that afternoon highs will reach 35 degrees in Gwangju, 33 in Seoul and Daejeon and 32 in Daegu. Heat advisories have been put into effect for all parts of South Korea except the east coastal regions.

The weather agency forecast that scorching heat during the day and tropical night temperatures above 25 degrees will persist through next week.
