Central Regions to See Heavy Rain Wednesday Afternoon

Seasonal rain fronts that had drifted north are turning south to soak the central region Wednesday afternoon.

The Korea Meteorological Administration has forecast at least 30 millimeters of rain per hour accompanied by strong winds and lightning will pound Seoul and its surrounding regions.

The northern parts of Gyeonggi Province, the northern parts of the Daegwallyeong mountain pass in Gangwon Province and the west coasts of South Chungcheong Province will see more than 150 millimeters of precipitation. Other parts of the central region will see rainfall of between 30 and 80 millimeters.

The weather agency said that rainfall in the central region will continue through the weekend.
