South Korea garnered seven gold medals in athletics, archery, cycliing, Taekwondo and equestrian event. With 67 gold medals, South Korea is ranked second after China in total medal tally. Kim Kyong-ho and Yim Dong-hyun won a gold in men's team archery and oon Mi-jin and Park Sung-hyun won in women's team. In men's high jump final, Lee Jin-teak added a gold by jumping 2 meters and 23 centimeters. Choi Jun-sang put on a good performance on his mount, Dancing Boy, to capture the gold medal in the individual dressage competition. The 24-year-old finished ahead of other riders by receiving total points of 1,307 from five judges. The medal is Korea's second gold in the equestrian event so far and shows the ability of the Korean and his horse acting as one without faltering. In downhill cycling, Jung Hyung-rae won a gold. In Taekwondo matches, Park Hee-chul and Kim Yon-ji won gold medals in men's fin weight final and women's under 63-kilogram match.
