S.Korea to Send Nuke Experts to Japan

The South Korean government is sending nuclear experts to Japan to address a leak of radioactive water from the No.3 reactor at the crippled Fukushima Number One nuclear power plant.

The Foreign Ministry said that the Japanese government confirmed the radioactive leak just after noon on Wednesday and notified the Korean Embassy in Japan by 3:30 p.m. (Korea Time) that day.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology said that the nuclear experts will go to Japan’s nuclear safety-related organizations such as the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency.

The ministry is also planning to strengthen the monitoring of changes in the amount of radioactive materials in the air and waters around the Korean Peninsula.
