The 2011 Colorful Daegu Pre-Championships Meeting will open on Thursday with 220 athletes from 43 countries set to compete in a variety of events.

The Daegu Pre-Championships is tantamount to a rehearsal for the 2011 IAAF World Championships in Athletics, which will be held in the Daegu in August this year.

Many world champion athletes will be competing in the track and field meet, including Allyson Felix who won the women's 200 meters three times at the IAAF World Championships.

KBS will broadcast the sporting event starting at 7 p.m. Thursday.
