S. Korea Tops Japan to 2nd Place in Asiad

Now for Asiad updates ... seven more gold medals for South Korea edging out Japan to jump to the second place in overall medal standings after China. South Korean shooters won three gold medals in Saturday's shooting events ... in men's team 50-meter prone, men's double trap, and women's individual double trap. In men's horizontal bars, Yang Tae-seok won the gold medal jointly with China's Teng Haibin and Japan's Hiroyuki Tomita after tying with identical scores of 9.80. Yang became the third South Korean gymnast to win a gold medal in the Busan Asiad. Cho Wang-bung carried his sharp, well-balanced frame to gold in the under-60 kilogram bodybuilding title. The silver medal went to Singapore while Vietnam nabbed the bronze. In the 70 kilogram division, Han Dong-kee brought his country another gold medal. In men's 50 meter freestyle swimming final, Kim Min-sok clocked 22 seconds 86 to add the seventh gold of the day. South Korea is placed at second place in medal tally with 29 gold, 30 silver and 42 bronze medals. China is topping the leaderboard with 85 gold medals with Japan trailing South Korea close behind with 26 gold medals.
