No Radioactive Substances Found In Korea's Rain

The government says that the South Korean environment has not been directly affected by the nuclear crisis at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan.

According to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, a test shows that radioactive materials, such as iodine and cesium, were not found in rainwater that was collected at 12 sites nationwide after rainfall on Sunday.

The ministry said that the radiation leakage in Japan has not had direct effects on South Korea, noting that radiation levels remain normal on 70 radiation monitoring devices around the nation.
