The 84 members of South Korea’s first ice-breaking ship, which is currently docked in New Zealand, are all confirmed to be safe after a six-point-three magnitude earthquake rattled Christchurch on Monday morning, local time.

The “Araon” arrived in New Zealand on Monday after completing an exploration mission to Terra Nova Bay in Antarctica.

The ship suffered no damage during the quake.

The icebreaker’s next move will be decided after thorough discussions with the Korea Polar Research Institute.
