IOC Begins Pyeongchang Inspection for Winter Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will begin on Wednesday on-site inspections of South Korea's Pyeongchang as part of the county's third bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics.

A 14-member IOC team led by Sweden's Gunilla Linberg has held a closed-door meeting to discuss its four-day itinerary, including the presentations the team will attend and the venues it will visit.

Pyeongchang has prepared for Wednesday presentations on eight themes, including ones on its Olympic vision, stadiums, athletes’ village, and accommodations for visitors.

The Pyeongchang bidding committee held its final rehearsal for the presentations on Tuesday.

The IOC team will attend 17-themed presentations into Saturday and will closely inspect the key venues in Pyeongchang, Jeongseon, and Gangneung before departing on Sunday.
